August 17 was my first day back in school from summer vacation and this year will also be my last final year as a high school student at Lindsay High School. My past three years I thought high school was just high school never thought ahead and thought about my future, let alone put myself as a senior and regret turning in my assignments incomplete or not at all. I spent all of my sophomore year and first semester of junior year at a continuation school. I would skip school and was falling behind in my classes, and attending john j cairns got me back on pace to come back to Lindsay High School my second semester of junior year. Now that I’m a senior I’m behind in couple of classes but i will do my best to get back on track and stay in pace. We’ve only been in school for a couple of weeks and homework assignments are no joke.
As of right now I am currently only working on my journals for my senior projects. I know senior projects will get a little challenging along the way but I am focused and I hope to soon start on doing my job shadow. As for my job shadow I am going to shadow a California Highway Patrol officer. I’m interested in soon getting that out of the way just to know how it’s like to be in an environment with several CHP officers. I know that a CHP officer has several duties that have interested me and maybe if i find it really interesting I might pursue a career as a CHP officer.
Over all, I’m hoping to have the best last year memories as a senior with my fellow classmates and make our senior year the best of it. I was looking forward for senior sunrise but I did not make it. I’m hoping to be more involved with school activities because I know that is where I will have all my memories for my senior year. I know soon we’ll have several activities going on in campus and I hope to make memories with my friends.
I have several goals for myself this year. one of them is graduating with my class. However, in order for me to graduate I must pass all my classes, so my second main goal is to not fall behind and to always stay on track or also try to stay ahead, I know falling behind pace will take more time out of my hands and it will be ten times harder to get back on track, so staying on pace is my only option. As for my future goals, I’m looking forward to continue my education at community college, focus on what I really want to pursue in life and maybe further my career at a university. however, as of now, the only thing in my mind is my exit interview , I’ve been a little worried about how thats going to be, but I know I’ll get it over with when the time comes.
